Loopmasters Present DJ Pierre with ‘Afro Acid House’

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

You probably don’t remember 1987. If you do, then you might have hazy memories of wearing aviator sunglasses, big leather jackets and fingerless gloves. But away from the mainstream the first seeds of acid house were being sowed by four house music lovers in Chicago: DJ Pierre, Spanky and Herb Jackson.  Together, under their alias Phuture, they created the world’s first acid house record called ‘Acid Tracks’, an 11 minute 17 seconds-long house trip based around a sound that has become synonymous with electronic music ever since, the bassline of the Roland TB-303 synthesizer.

Jedeye featured on The Hype Machine

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Just a quick note that Jedeye’s dubstep rework of Madonna’s “Frozen” has been blogged on The Hype Machine!

The Hype Machine keeps track of what music bloggers write about. They handpick a set of music blogs and then present what they discuss for easy analysis, consumption and discovery. “We are creating tools that empower independent voices that write about music. Rather than picking and writing about music ourselves, we think a select group of passionate people can do a better job, so we amplify their posts and the audio they choose. This group will produce more vibrant culture and conversation than a huge social mob, or a rigid hierarchy of editors.”

Or in Jedeye’s words: “Just found out my Madonna remix has been blogged on The Hype Machine, one of the biggest and most popular music blogs on the net! :) BIG!!”
